sometimes i wonder how i managed to get through 5 years of college and come out the other end with a double major and my sanity intact. and then i take my vyvanse and im like. ohhhhhhhh okay i remember this feeling. im invincible, i’m God, i can walk through walls and lift the world
A bluebird fluffing itself against the chill this morning. I’ve started on my yearly May bird count and so far I have 39 species on the list. I’m hoping for at least 70, especially if I can get to the lake a couple times. I’m not counting birds Merlin comes up with unless I hear them too. Yesterday I accidentally let my camera scrape against a stone bridge and Merlin said the noise was an osprey!
Expecting a visit from @alackofcharacter and we plan to get to the lake if at all possible. There could be loons! And many other migrating birds. It has been gray and chilly so far but if the sun comes out and it warms up, birds will start singing everywhere we go!
For every modern trans girl who wishes she could return to the days of being a sumerian eunuch temple priestess, there was a sumerian eunuch temple priestess afflicted by an inexplicable desire to play the synthesizer. These were interpreted as prophetic visions

Holy SHIT this is cool!! Y'all! Y'ALL!! This is HUGE!! Our ancestors were having a nice grill out 600,000 years EARLIER than we thought!!! We went from thinking this was 180,000 years ago to fucking 780,000 years ago!! That’s mind-blowing!!! Like… just think about the difference between starting a 180k fic (already a sizable investment) vs getting into a 780k MONSTER!! And… that’s just words! Not years!! I’m blown away!!
(I’m going hunting for the original paper, now. Because I want to know what species that carp was. After all.. until you know the species, you can’t come up with a decent recipe…)
